The place where Australia first meets the sun. Byron Bay is our most easterly point and has long been known as a spiritual and healing centre of Australia. Aboriginal elders say it’s been a sacred healing ground for tens of thousands of years. It has indefinable magical qualities. It’s a jewel under a lighthouse, where the rainforest meets the sea, with cafés, music, arts and boutique shops to explore.
Only 3km from the lively town of Byron Bay and spectacular beaches. Taxis and Ubers are readily available for the 5 minute drive to the centre of town. It takes most people around 25 minutes to walk into town and 20 minutes to walk to the nearest beach and tea tree lake. Bicycles can be hired in town if you wish to cycle and explore the area during free time.
You will have plenty of free time to swim in the pool, explore the surrounding nature trails and relax on nearby beaches. At an additional cost we will have on-site massage and spa treatments available for you to book as well as three optional trips with the group:
- Cape Byron Lighthouse ~ The stunning walk to the most easterly point of Australia.
- Crystal Castle ~ Sacred gardens, ancient amethyst cave, labyrinth and energetically powerful giant crystals.
- Hinterland Tour ~ Visit a hidden rainforest temple, waterfall swim, sound meditation in a secret glow-worm cave.

yoga teacher & retreat leader
The retreat will be led by Kula Yoga’s Founder, Kacey Smith. Kacey has led many overseas & local retreats and can’t wait to practice in paradise with you. She sees the mat as a powerful source we can plug into, to spark a positive and healthy life. She values the blissful mind-body connection that continuously inspires her to practice and teach.
Her love for travel led her to Canada where she completed her teacher training in Hot Yoga and Power Vinyasa before adding Yin Yoga and Meditation to her repertoire on her return to Melbourne. With a deep appreciation of the benefits of combining dynamic yang styles with the calming yin styles of yoga she founded Kula Yoga over 8 years ago with a vision to provide a welcoming sanctuary for yogis to strengthen, energise, release and thrive.
