In our power flow classes at Kula Yoga Camberwell we have the opportunity to work towards arm balances in the practice. However in a regular class we generally don’t get enough time to really dig in and learn all of the in’s and out’s of arm balancing poses. If you would like to learn more about the preparations, poses and progressions of arm balancing then this workshop is for you, all levels welcome!

The Preparation

Some of us roll out of bed and can touch our toes, and some of us need a little more time to open up the body. The same principal can be applied to yoga poses. In our “3 P’s of Arm Balancing” workshop we will move through a sequence that will prepare the body for all the different positions you will explore in arm balances.

The Poses

There are many different arm balance poses in yoga and we are going to work towards some of the favourites that pop up in your Power classes at Kula Yoga. Whether you end up balancing in the full expression of the pose or not is irrelevant, what this workshop will do is teach you that even the preparations and progressions leading up to the full expression of the pose will build the strength and confidence to one day take flight.

The Progressions

As yoga is a practice that is ever evolving, once we have mastered an arm balance we then have the opportunity to take it to the next level and perhaps even further still. In this workshop we will look at progressions, variations and transitions of arm balances so that even those with some solid experience with arm balancing will be able to explore new territory.
See you all on the mat Saturday 21st November 2pm – 4pm.
