“Authenticity is the alignment of head, mouth, heart, and feet – thinking, saying, feeling, and doing the same thing – consistently. This builds trust, and followers love leaders they can trust.” Lance Secretan
Springtime is an opportunity to slowly peel away layers of inauthenticity which start to build up over the year. Within this exposed space of truth and honestly I can access my core beliefs, wants and needs. When I am out of alignment with my values fear can start to creep in and build walls between my dreams and my reality.
BE TRUE TO YOU
I believe in spending your time enjoying relationships and activities that genuinely satisfy your needs and emotions. You know deep down what feels good for your soul – and what doesn’t. Explore the things that make you smile, get you excited and bring out the best in you. Be true to you.
BE TRUE TO THEM
The more authentic I am with myself, in front of others, the more I attract authentic and strong individuals who support me for who I am and share my direction. Not having the right intention, or pretending to be something that I’m not, won’t serve me – and it won’t serve my family, friends and community.
BE TRUE TO ALL
As Anton Wilson once said, “Don’t believe in anybody else’s belief systems.”
If I pretend to live life following the ‘ideal system’ of main-stream society without questioning how it makes me feel, I fall out of alignment with my beliefs. I compromise willpower and desire to achieve success, if I act inauthentic with my belief systems.
When I make my best efforts to be authentic with myself, others, and the greater world, I find it much easier to strive for great things. It takes practice. Sometimes it is hard to know when I am being truthful, especially when I am confused or tired. As long as I am consistent with things that make me feel good, (ie yoga, meditation, spending time with family and friends) I always settle back into my own truth, no matter how distant it may feel at times.
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
― Dr. Seuss
See you on your mats soon.
