You see them weekly in studio. They guide you through your practice & continually inspire you on the mat. But how well do you really KNOW your Kula teachers. Here’s sneak peek at Kula teacher Lara Stoll off the mat…
My first experience of yoga was…
When I was 17 years old. I found it physically and mentally challenging. I was completely out of my comfort zone! However, my parents had gifted me a 10 class pass so I felt I had to continue. Once I had completed the 10 classes I was completely hooked. Fast forward 10 years later and I am teaching other beginners how to fall in love with yoga.
My favourite yoga pose is…
Fallen triangle or Patita Tarasana. I feel my most feminine and open in this pose.
I always find it challenging to let go of that little voice in my head and be present. Yet funnily enough I am inspired by this little voice. I am inspired by life experiences, conversations, the moon, nature, education, yoga texts, music. I am inspired by life. I have surround myself with like-minded people that constantly challenge my thought process and encourage me to question, learn and grow.
When I’m not on the mat, I’m…
In a treatment room, restoring health to people’s bodies as an Osteopath. If I’m not being an Osteo or Teacher, you’ll find me drinking almond lattes, taking day trips to nature walks, near the beach, spending quality time with friends and family, watching Netflix.
What really lights me up is…
Travel. When I am travelling I find myself reconnecting to my true self. I love exploring the world.
One thing the Kula community doesn’t know about me is…
I have tea and choccie almost every night…I am a chocoholic!
I’m listening to..
I love ‘Under the Skin’ by Russell Brand.
And currently reading…
Boy Swallows Universe
My fav local hangout other than Kula is….
Monk Bodhi Darma Café in St Kilda to treat myself to there mouth watering chai latte.
My favourite quote is…
“When I’m aligned with my higher self, there are no mistakes”
