I’ve been reflecting this week. In a world that’s apparently more “connected” than ever, so many people are feeling the opposite—disconnected, lonely, isolated.
In the midst of online everything—social media, DMs, FaceTime, and text threads—we scroll. We like. We heart. We comment.
But deep, real, in-person connection? That’s something else entirely. And we need it more than we realise.
With so many of us working from home or caught up in the juggle of life, it’s becoming harder to find those natural, everyday moments of connection.
That’s why community has always been at the heart of what we do at Kula.
In Sanskrit, Kula means community. And from day one, my vision was to create welcoming sanctuaries where people could be part of a group of like-minded souls—to move, breathe, and simply be, with others.
That’s why we designed reception spaces separate from the studio rooms that invite conversation, set up tea stations, and created environments where you feel like you’re part of something bigger. Somewhere you can walk in and be greeted by name. Somewhere you belong.
Because yoga isn’t just about the poses—it’s about connection.
To your body. To your breath. To each other.
We need that. Especially now.
Last weekend I went away with three of my ride-or-die besties, and it was a reminder of just how powerful face-to-face time can be. It wasn’t flashy or fancy—just long, uninterrupted chats, beach walks, a bathhouse soak, a little dance, and so many laughs my cheeks still hurt. It filled my cup in ways a message thread never could.
But whether it’s a weekend away, a cup of tea in the studio lounge, a hello before class, or a moment shared on the mat beside someone—it all counts.
And sometimes, it starts by just showing up.
So here’s your gentle nudge to step into community, to carve out time for connection, and to remember that you don’t have to do life alone.
You’re always welcome here.
With love,
Kacey x
P.S. If you’re craving deeper connection or looking to meet like-minded souls, we only have 4 rooms left on our Bali retreat. I’d love for you to join us. This might be your opportunity to press pause, reset, and form real friendships that stretch well beyond the retreat itself. Email me here if you’re keen to join us in paradise.
