Take a moment to close your eyes, be still, scan your body. Where are you holding onto tension? Jaw? Neck? Shoulders? Lower back? Hips?
It’s amazing what we get used to as normal. We start to accept pain and tension, it becomes part of our regular existence.
Many of us spend a large part of our day sitting. Sitting in the car, sitting at our desk, sitting on the couch. This sedentary lifestyle is freezing us up. It’s making our bodies stiff, and when we tighten up we build tension and we feel pain. Quite often along our spine and around our hips.
We need to keep moving to keep our joints, and connective tissue, smooth and supple.
Yin Yoga helps the body to stretch, to find space and relieve pain and tension. We move gently and slowly into poses and hold them for up to five minutes to allow the body to open up at it’s own pace.
As the body starts to find space we start to feel a sense of relief.
We make a shift, create a new reality and build a new found awareness in how good our body can feel.
What to experience it for yourself? Join me for our ‘Hip & Spine Release – Yin Masterclass’ on Saturday March 19, 2 – 4pm.
I’ll look forward to seeing you on your mat, and helping you find freedom.
About the author: Kacey is the founder of Kula Yoga. Her love for travel led her to Canada where she completed her teacher training at YYOGA Neoalpine in Hot Yoga, with a further intensive in Power Vinyasa. She invited inspirational Yin Yoga teachers Mysan Sidbo & Jennifer Crescendo to hold teacher training courses at the Kula Yoga studio where she learned the beautiful benefits of a Yin practice. She soon found value in the blissful mind-body connection that continuously inspires her to combine Yin with her dynamic Power & Hot practice.
