When I teach in the studios, I always greet our yogis with a warm smile and say,
“Make yourself at home.”

It’s something I say often—out of habit and from the heart.

This week, one of our new members looked up at me and replied,
“Thank you. It does feel like home.”

That simple response made me smile. Because that’s the whole point.

That someone new to our space could already feel that sense of comfort and belonging…
That’s the magic.
That’s what I’ve always hoped Kula would offer.

A Yoga Studio That Feels Like a Sanctuary

It’s so important to me that our studios feel like sanctuaries.
Spaces where you can exhale.
Where you’re safe to move, to breathe, to feel—really feel.

Because let’s be honest, sometimes things come up during class.
We’ve had people get emotional when they practice, and that’s OK—I promise.

We spend so much of our lives suppressing, pushing things down, pretending we’re fine.
But your yoga practice doesn’t ask you to hold it together.
It invites you to soften.

The Real Work: Presence, Not Perfection

When something bubbles to the surface in class, you always have two choices:
Attachment or non-attachment.

Can you notice what’s come up without judging it?
Can you sit with it… and then maybe, with a long, slow exhale, release it?

It’s not always easy, but it’s such an important part of the practice.
Because yoga isn’t just about poses—it’s about presence.

Home Is Where You’re Held

Home is where the heart is.
Home is where you feel safe and seen.
Home is where you can be authentically you.

It’s where you can show up just as you are—messy, emotional, tired, joyful, overwhelmed—and know that you’ll be held.

And I’m so grateful that, for so many of you, Kula feels like home.
A place to return to.
A space to land.
A community that welcomes you, exactly as you are.

With love,
